Thom Poole

Some authors devote their careers to a single genre. Thom Poole has always been driven by ideas.

For the past twenty years, Thom has written books spanning historical fiction, marketing, business, psychology, mythology and children’s fiction. Each title reflects a different aspect of his curiosity, combining research, practical experience and storytelling to help readers see familiar subjects from a fresh perspective.

As the founder of Red Kite Publishing™, Thom believes that every book should inform, entertain or inspire. Whether exploring the complexities of human behaviour, documenting remarkable moments in history or creating imaginative adventures, his aim remains the same: to write books that readers remember long after they have turned the final page.

Why Thom Writes

Writing began almost by accident. At school I was told I was a poor writer. Years later, a university tutor encouraged me to publish my Master’s dissertation. That single conversation became the beginning of a publishing journey that continues today.

Following the completion of his Master’s degree, Thom’s dissertation attracted the attention of his tutor, who encouraged him to publish it. What began as a single academic recommendation developed into a publishing career that has now produced more than one hundred titles across business, history, fiction and popular non-fiction.

His work has always been shaped by experience. An award-winning international marketer, consultant, lecturer and speaker, Thom has worked with organisations across more than seventy countries. Those experiences have provided the inspiration for many of his business books, while his lifelong interest in history, folklore and human behaviour continues to influence his fiction.

For Thom, every book begins with a question worth exploring.
